RISK Metal Detectors’ knife arches were recently featured on BBC Breakfast as part of their UK school knife crime special.
Over the last few years, knife crime and students carrying knives in schools has reach epidemic proportions which has garnered a lot of attention from the public and the media. There have been several high profile incidents, the most prominent being the murder of Harvey Willgoose in February 2025.
The BBC team visited our headquarters to see the our walk-through metal detectors in action and discuss how they can be used to improve safety in schools and other public spaces. During the visit, we demonstrated the RISK P1 Portable Knife arch — currently our most post popular knife arch amongst schools in the UK.
The feature highlighted the growing interest from schools, local authorities, and police forces looking for practical, effective solutions to keep students safe.
