RISK Metal Detectors Featured on ITV News About School Knife Crime

On August 8th 2025, ITV News aired a segment on knife crime in British schools, focusing on the spate of incidents that has happened over the last 12 months. The piece was aired on the same day that a guilty verdict had been handed down to the 15-year old murderer of Harvey Willgoose. 

Harvey Willgoose was a young man who was stabbed several times while he was at school in Sheffield. He had previously refused to go to school because he felt unsafe as there were children carrying knives on the premises. 

As part of this larger segment, Ben Bason, as journalist from ITV, went to the RISK Metal Detectors facilities to learn more about knife arches and how they are being deployed in schools around the country. He interviewed our Managing Director, Byron Logue, who discussed the increase in violent crime.
